76ERS TO FACE DEFENDING NBA WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON CELTICS IN PRESEASON GAME AT MULLINS CENTER ON OCTOBER 8

(Amherst, MA - August 6, 2008) --- The Philadelphia 76ers will face the defending National Basketball Association Champion Boston Celtics in a preseason game at the Mullins Center on the campus of the University of Massachusetts on Wednesday, October 8. The Mullins Center is operated and managed by Global Spectrum, the public assembly facility management subsidiary of Sixers' parent company, Comcast-Spectacor.

"We're excited to bring the Sixers to the Mullins Center for an entertaining night of NBA Basketball," said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko and graduate of Massachusetts. "This game allows us to expand our fan base and expose new fans to 76ers basketball while at the same time enabling one of the facilities we manage (through our management subsidiary Global Spectrum) to enhance its event schedule with top-notch sports and attractions."

 The game will not only highlight the Sixers and their strong relationship with Global Spectrum, but will also give the Celtics a chance to continue to touch different parts of their home state.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, August 15, 2008 at 10 a.m. and are available at the Mullins Center box office, online at ticketmaster.com or charge-by-phone at 413-733-2500. Tickets are priced at $25, $40, $50, $60 and $76. UMass Amherst students, faculty, and staff receive a $5 discount off select ticket prices at the Mullins Center box office with identification.
